hello choir! ^^ janice here :) haven posted for a really long time...

ok,so today's practice was ok,leant a new song today :D
**must practice ok... :) so that you will be sure of your parts and we dont have to repeat what we have done for the last practice.and sing louder.! dont hide behind other ppl's voice.BE DARING AND BRAVE TO SING OUT! ITS OK TO MAKE MISTAKES.WE MAKE MISTAKES IN ORDER TO LEARN :) i got to listen out to you guys really hard cos i really cant hear you guys during sectionals and mass singing.it should not be the case ok.dont torture my ears :(

THE SEC 1s ARE COMING ON MONDAY! ^^ im excited for it :) the recruitment this yr is great! 16 ppl,14 girls and 2 boys! :) yay ^^ guess we impressed them :)
so do make the sec 1s feel welcomed...make them feel that they have choosen the right cca.maintain high standards of discipline ok,dont make us scream and remind you all these basic things...you dont want to leave a bad impression for the sec 1s right? do not use your phone and dont talk uneccessarily.be friendly but dont over do it...dont scare them away ;)

We don't really have much time to practice till our performance on friday. We've got to make sure the sec 1s are awed by our glee medley and WANT TO JOIN US!! Hi choir .This blog is so dead,I want every single one of you who read this to tag right now.ITS MURNI HERE BTW ^^

Just to update all of you ,again ,choir practice are on Mondays and Fridays.
Practice on Monday :3pm.
Practice on Friday :Those of you who are in the Junior Choir you have to be in the AV theatre by 12.15pm and for those in the Senior Choir report at 1.15pm.

Attention all Sec 2s :
In addition to your choir practices all of you will be having Theory Lessons from 2pm-3pm at the TNL Lab(beside staff room) EVERY MONDAY starting from 16 Jan which is this coming practice.

Today's performance :
RESPECT.It is two ways ,you dont give the committee the respect they deserve then you are clearly stating that we should scream and shout at you .I dont care who's up there talking whatever it is shut it and listen .It looks like we have to start reminding you little children about your basic manners.

The Dance :
We asked for your opinion ,who wanted the dance ? MAJORITY said they wanted to dance the Glee Medley .We thought of all of you ,we gave you a choice .So please co-operate with me.This performance is crazy important. We can change Sec 1s perception on Choir .As you all know Sec 1s can change their CCAs in the 1st two weeks right ? We could either recruit more or make the ones that put Choir as their first choice REGRET.We do not want any narrow-minded ,uncivilised animals from the audience to jeer right? We are going to work on the dance on Monday and perfect it.

Attendance:
We have new teachers-in-charge now so new rules.Mrs Ang is very particular about everyone's attendance ,if you are not coming inform Carinda and she'll tell Mrs Ang .If your sick ,get a Medical Cert. !! If you are self-medicating ,get a formal parent's letter stating the day you were sick and leave parents contactable info on the letter .There is a high chance Mrs Ang will give them a call to clarify.

Next practice???
Next choir practice is on Monday 3pm as for Sec 2s report at 2pm at TNL Lab.We're are going to practice the dance so it is going to be tiring ,be ready :) BRING YOUR YELLOW DRESSES. Label them on a hanger !

This is a long update post read it word for word and then tag .
Anw ,we received feedback that many of you do not think that sectionals are fruitful and are a waste of time so we came up with something different and we will have smaller groups of sectionals to help every single one of you closely .Everything will start after the new year.

Hey choir :) Syafiqah here again. Sigh... Well my topic isnt going to be that lengthy because i know that you all have heard *what i'm gonna say now* before. Basically its another "scolding session" but i'll summarize it. So, first of all, i'm sorry for being so... well, i dont know the negative things you think about me. so yeah.... But its my job to remind you all about basic stuff like respect. If you want to be respected, you have earn it by respecting your seniors and listening to them... We can be friendly but there's certain limit to it. We talk, you listen and viceversa. Secondly, i wana remind you all, please DONT USE PHONE DURING CHOIR PRACTICE! You can use it before or after choir or during choir break. Even if you're cant sing for some practices, do not use your phone!! Lastly, DO NOT TALK IF SOMEONE IS TALKING AT THE FRONT because it may be IMPORTANT. When you listen, do not use your mouth but your ears to listen because we dont like to repeat ourselves. So hope that you all will do what i have reminded you tomorrow.

Hey, syafiqah here :) As you know, this year is coming to an end and the upcoming year is gona be a new chapter. A new beginning with new sec1 members. Wohoo! But I expect everybody to make a GREAT IMPROVEMENT in your singing if you wana get Gold for the next SYF. GOT IT! Even if next year isn’t the SYF year, we still have to be serious in reaching our goals. Next Friday is an important day because we’ll be promoting choir to the new batch of sec1s. Besides that, if you have classmates who doesn’t have any CCA, try to get them to join choir. I understand that it’s a difficult task but let’s just do our best in recruiting more people, okay. Ohya, remember that this afternooon we had an audition... Well don't be too disappointed with the scores you get. It doesn't matter if you're in the junior or in the senior choir... What matters more is that we are one. One Voice, One Family!

Things to take note:

Hello choir! Before you do anything, scroll down and read the previous post by Jozzzzie. :) I'm being an extra idiot and posting this because i have decided that it is important. Yes, the concert is over. And now, HONGKONG. Those who are going, please start packing now. Why? So that in case you realized you have something missing or whatever, theres still time to salvage the situation. Wash your gowns and yellow dresses. We're bringing it all. I know the packing list is really confusing. So here's what we really need. I hope this helps.

Now, it wouldn't hurt bringing your yellow dress and black gowns, so pack it up into your luggage. Also, DON'T FORGET YOUR HEELS. Put it nicely in a bag/box and into your luggage now. Remember to fill in the yellow paper and put it onto your luggage to save time at the airport. Tie the orange ribbon for easy recognition as well. REMEMBER YOUR BLUE BOOKLET. Don't put that into your luggage. Leave it in your carry-on bag as you might need it while you have no access to your luggage. Also, please remember, no sharp items in your carry-on bags and NO LIQUID. Don't worry about ironing board and irons because all hotels have that. However when you iron, don't iron right on the dress. Put a cloth over and iron it otherwise yeah. It will burn -_-

Moving on to own clothing. Bring about 2 JACKETS. Jackets are not cardigans or whatever. You need jackets to keep you WARM. Its cold in Hongkong and you need to keep warm. About 2 is enough, don't bring too many. Its mad. You can bring scarves if you want, to protect your little neck. Gloves and earmuffs are not needed so chill. We'll be there for 4 days or so, so bring 3/4 pairs of socks. As for shoes, other than your heels, just bring a pair of sneakers or whatever. Something that COVERS YOUR ENTIRE FEET. You don't need many of those. Just one pair will do. Bring 2 pairs of jeans, one will do fine too. Don't forget your blue long sleeved hongkong tee, and bring another 2 to 3 T-shirts, either PE or choir tee will do fine. The quantity is not stated on the packing list so follow this. I don't think you'll go wrong. Undergarments, bring 4. As for girls, some of you might be unlucky enough to get your thing at hongkong, so don't forget your pads, bring extra panties in case it leaks. Bring clothes to wear in the hotel, don't wear skimpy little lingeries unless you want to freeze to death, bring long pants and long sleeved shirts. (Amount : up to you.) That should cover clothing. bring another 2 or 3 long sleeved clothing as well. *Another thing ,don't forget your smart casual attire for the Gala Dinner !

Moving on to toiletries. Girls, discuss with your partners who should bring soap, and who should bring shampoo to lighten your heavy loads. You can share right? Face cream, conditioner etc. Toothpaste can be shared too, but please don't share toothbrushes. Those who use contact lenses, remember your contact lens casing and solution. DON'T PUT YOUR SOLUTION INTO YOUR CARRY-ON BAG. Which means you probably shouldn't wear it to the airport as you would not be able to take it off during the flight. Do bring your spectacles as well. Bring plasters, medication if you know you will get nauseous whatsoever, because no one is allowed to give you medicine. When you see your friend in need of medical attention, don't give them your medicine. Tell a teacher immediately. Bring elastic bands to tie your hair, and hairclips ok. They get lost easily so bring more. Put some hard sweets (those that cannot be chewed) as the pressure during the flight is very disturbing to your ears and sucking on a sweet will help soothe the uncomfortable-ness. Those who hadn't sat on planes before should take note. Bring some stationary (in your carry-on bag) and your camera or handphones. But keep all of those OFF during the flight. It would be dangerous if we experience turbulence during the flight, so be considerate. Btw carry-on bag is the so called haversack. But just bring a backpack or something. Because haversacks are those loose loose mad bags.

DON'T FORGET YOUR THERMOMETER. DON'T FORGET YOUR THERMOMETER!!!!

This should be it. Start packing now! Go wash your gowns and yellow dresses if you haven't done so. Monday is the flight already so DON'T PROCRASTINATE. DO IT NOW.

If you're wondering what to wear to the airport on Monday, well i'm not sure either. And i'm not sure if it has been mentioned. So if it has been, pardon me and do tell me. But if it hasn't been, then put on jeans and choir tee perhaps? (Grey one, planes are not cold enough for you to put on the blue one yet) so yeah.

I hope i hadn't forgotten anything. Oh boy i spent a long time doing up this post i hope its useful :X

hello everybody, if you cant see my name down below, i'm josie. pronounced as joZie. hehe eventhough today's performance wasnt perfect, but we so darn good, we were awesome!!!! OUR WORRIES ESPECIALLY IN THE SPECIAL ITEM. WE TOTALLY ROCKED THE STAGE. how i wish i was the audience, this would de very best choir concert ever. (better than the RI one) we were FUN HIGH AND HAPPY most of all we spread our energy! SO GREAT JOB PEOPLE!

still somethings you guys NEED TO KNOW, our discipline is horrible. the teacher wanted to complain about our sch being too noisy. I HOPE THIS CAN IMPROVE AND I DONT WANT TO SEE THIS HAPPENING ESPECIALLY DURING THE HONGKONG TRIP.

Hi choir, its me again :) Today's combine rehearsal was SUPER HORRIBLE and your behaviour wasn't up to my expectation. Same goes with your singing. Well i think it's partially because today we sang with the other choirs so it feels kinda awkward and our discipline went down the drain. Let me remind you again! We're left with two more rehearsal! Two more rehearsal!!!!!! We can't afford to drop our standard especially at this time! We're a SILVER CHOIR!! I BELIEVE THAT YOU CAN DO MUCH MORE BETTER THAN THIS!! Tomorrow i want you all to be better singers and don't care about what other choirs think of you, okay!?!

Hi choir , guess what ?
Todays practice was NOT GOOD . Not good at all . What happened to you guys seriously ? How can you do this when its the last practice together ? I dont understand this at all . Do you want to reach our goal or not ? You're suppose to be improving not deproving ! And your singing and discipline today was definitely unacceptable .

Your singing today as you all know was pretty horrible . Tell me , what happened ? Did you guys even practice and try to memorise the songs ? Why choir ? Why was there a drastic deprovement at the most crucial times like this ?

And your discipline . Back to bad . There can never be total silence whenever someone is speaking can it ? There just have to be annoying murmurings everywhere . Every single time you know . For once lah , please keep your mouth shut when someone is speaking . And do not interrupt okay .

Please also follow instructions quickly . Dont take your own sweet time . Quickly do it and get it over and done with .

I know today was extremely tiring and stressful . But we wouldnt need to go through this much pain if we could just practice , listen and look at the conducting right ? Because of our awful singing , we have to do sectionals tomorrow which i know we all dont want . So please sing properly tomorrow if you dont wanna stay back unnecessarily again .

How many days left to the concert ? 5 .
How many practices left ? 3 .

Not much time left you know . We have to buck up and perfect everything by then . Time is precious people so dont waste it on stuff we already know . Dont keep repeating the same mistakes .
Please just give it your all and really work hard towards our goal for these final laps .

Make us proud . Make the school proud . Make the people who supported you all these while proud . Cos at the end of the day we do not want to regret anything and feel that our hard work was wasted .
And please try your very best to sell the tickets . Mr Wong had put in soo much effort in this upcoming concert and hk and you dont wanna dissapoint him right ? He used his own money for most of the expenses leh ! Dont you feel any sympathy at all ? He's trying so hard and he doesnt really expect much back . The least we could do is to sing right .

And as for our dancing , yay we finished everything ! Now its time to perfect them . We're almost there Choir . You can do it ! Remember to sing along & smileee .

Hello :) I'm elena.
Just to inform you guys, We've read through the feedback! Although almost all you said the same thing, we've got the message that you guys are trying to send to us and we'll work on the feedback! To clarify some stuff, please try to understand that although we can be strict, we can also be fun! As for the strict time-frame, i do agree that trainings are abit long, just to let you know the committee always comes one hour earlier than you guys and stay back one hour later than you guys. But in any case, this strict time-frame's only for our preparation for the concert (please inform your parents that this is our crucial period, so we may all go home slightly later)
But we'll make sure we practice what we preach. So from now on, I (yes your chairman) vow that every committe member will practice what we preach! or we'll do 5 pushups for every-one broken!!

Alright, today we did lots dancing in our pretty yellow dresses. Note: I feel that we'll look really amazing up there on the stage twirling and dancing under the spotlights :). But having a good outlook isn't all, we've got to make sure that we're made of good stuff. (Not as if this hasn't been emphasized enough) Dancesteps Dancesteps Dancesteps! Let's all work hard together and perfect our steps! (i'm practicing mine after this, i swear)
I'm sure you guys can see how passionate Carinda and Murni are in putting the whole dance together and passing it down to everyone, so let's not disappoint them both, nor the teachers, mr Wong, our supporters or those who believe in us (eg. seniors) alright??

Right now, we've covered 75% of the special item. Remaining 25% you may ask? That's the passion, enthusiam and effort from all of us (if you're willing to put them in) . One week left to our concert, and i can't make it any more obvious that it's the crucial period for all of us. We either make it, or break it and the hard truth is that, it's all in our hands. Friends/classmates/schoolmates that look down on choir or you? Well let me tell you, put up a good performance and that's gonna let us leave with new found glory and respect gained.

Hello choir!

This is Jiaqi speaking! :)

Today we kicked off our choir practice with aiming towards a common goal: which is to have a 'more-than-extreme' successful show for both the year end concert and the hongkong trip! All the hard work we're putting in now is to make us more prepared and confident on stage. And of course, show people the power of Damaivoicez! So please please please put in 101% in these very few choir practices. We've came a long way and now is definitely not the time to slacken off!

Discipline was good today; all of you did not talk much when Mr Wong was going through the songs and even when taking out scores, the noise level was acceptable. However, even though there was not much commotion, you all need to pay more attention as I can see some of you spacing out and not coming in when you are supposed to.

Today's singing was not bad either! But as usual, there NEEDS to be improvement. Do not anticipate and wait for others to come in. You have to be very sure of all your scores and do start memorizing the rest of songs (Still I Rise etc.) as well. Also, do take note of your posture(backs straight, do not slouch) and facial expressions. I have seen a drastic regression(opposite of improvement) in this two components since SYF, so please take note as it does affect your singing greatly.

As for our special item, please put in effort to practice that too. It is our very own time to shine so we must also show our best in this section also! There will be a dance audition tomorrow so please practice it tonight. If you do not pass them, you will have to stay back for the rest of the practice to work on it. A gentle reminder to bring your dresses and heels tomorrow. :D

No more consumption of fried food for the upcoming days and take good care of your throat! :) We are left with only two more practices so please try not skip any of it. Thank you very much.
Choir starts at 11AM tomorrow. Please be on time if not, you know the rules!

Hello people who wear tee shirts to choir. Just wanna be clear on some things.

If you think that dancing for the special item is wasting your time, then I'm very sorry to hear. We spent hours and hours staying back late after choir just to think of de best, nice and easier dance steps for everyone. And if you think that it's easy to choreograph the dance then we will gladly take in advice from you. If you have any suggestion, your are free to do so. If you want this concert to work out, all of you will then have to give your very best and be hyper and look alive! So we will look fantastic on stage. If you're embarrassed that we're dancing on stage and becoming all Stone-full, then the more people will comment about us. If we look happy and enjoying ourselves, then will be happy for us too. Hope you guys can understand.

From starting of next week, NO MORE FRIED FOOD. I know all of us ate it too. Well maybe not all, but no more fried food from next week onwards until the hong kong performance is over. After the performance, in hong kong, you can eat all the wonderful hong kong food. Yay. Woohs
Don't wanna see anyone going to any fastfood restaurants during the lunch breaks next week.

Okay. Now. Please watch your discipline. I'm sure we've said this thousands of times and yet no one respects our presence. If anything you're not sure about, you can always raise up and your hand and ask. If you're sick or not able to do certain activities, you guys can always tell us. Dont just keep quiet cause you may interrupt the momentum of our progressing.
Also when Mr Wong is teaching us or telling us something, please give him full attention and stop chit chatting. Only yesterday after the seniors came in, I can hear the air con running. There was total 'silence' . Guess you guys love them so much :(

Only if you give him your attention and maintain discipline, everything will fall into place. Like yesterday for example, you guys were quiet, listening to him and you guys sang really well and we're all impressed. I like the fact that you guys are respecting your seniors ALOT but please also respect Mr Wong and Us.Please also control your usage of hand phones in choir. Guess we are all addicted to the technology nowadays? Now is a critical period where the stress will be coming along but we're in this together. SO LET'S WORK HARD NOW! AND WE CAN PLAY HARDER LATER!

Hello elite vocalist !
No more jokes ,its serious time.

First of all ,the choir did really well for Butterfly today ,we're really proud.We realise that this effort is only put in by you when the seniors are with us .
This is not acceptable .Every single one of you should respect us like you respect the Sec 4s.We will not entertain any form of rudeness any more .Why are we back to basics ? The concert is very important so is Hong Kong .Each and every one of you should work as hard or even harder than SYF.
All the committee members have rights to give instructions so listen! We are going to step up the discipline measures because some of you do not seem to understand how to respect us and one another.

On a lighter note , great singing and discipline today .Unless you want to make a fool of yourself in front of your friends and family after they paid CASH to watch YOU ,please practice your dance .This special item is very important .We all want to do perfect for the dance.Watch the Glee Light Up The World video !! They do not look like zombies ,they are happy ,gleeful, hyper ,full of energy beings ! We want that ,so practice !! G-double O-D-J-O-B GOODJOB *CLAP CLAP* GOODJOB *CLAP CLAP* We did a lot of dancing today and yes we're getting there. We're so close but we're just not there yet. So, we're gonna need everyone's co-operation!! (the basics: no interruption, respect the person talking by not talking and looking at the person while he/she is speaking, bring all necessary stuff for choir and respect the conductor).

Please practice the dance at home! Especially if you always have to look/rely on someone else to get the steps right. When you dance: Wide, exaggerated and confident movements. This means that no looking at one another, SMILE (for goodness sake, enjoy your limelight on stage!!) , and dance with lots of power and speed alright! I'm happy that you guys are more alive during light up the world! ( I really like it when you guys smile and dance care-freely!!) We'l gonna work on issues on confidence once we've learnt all the steps! We only have 3 practices till the combined rehearsal. Time is running out , and its running out fast. So we gotta keep improving like how we are now!

Hello choir! Carinda here. If i'm not wrong, tomorrow is remembrance day? But to remember what, i have no idea. So today we did the dance. If we were a bit too harsh, i apologize. But the pressure of the concert nearing is really making me paranoid and scared. So i hope you guys won't freak out. Also, don't stop selling your tickets. Even after you've finished selling all your 6, continue to promote the concert and get more tickets from Mr Wong :)

Today at the start of choir, Elena had a talk with you guys didn't she? I hope all of you guys remember what you have promised and continue to work hard for choir! Don't make Mr Wong angry again. It sure wasn't pleasant seeing him flare up was it? :/ So pay a lil' more attention, talk a lil' less. Things won't go wrong :) watch your discipline, we don't want rudeness/talking back.

Remember to memorise the songs Mr Wong asked you to. You don't want to embarass yourself by singing the wrong things etc right? ^^

Last but not least, PRACTICE YOUR DANCE. Especially the crucial 2nd row. You guys are always not coming together and we need to improve that. Be sure of where you're supposed to come in. Raise questions when you're in doubt, don't just stand there and keep doing the wrong things over and over again. We won't bite when you ask questions. Just make sure you don't ask redundant questions ok?

We have implented new rules and in case you forget, here are the more crucial ones.
1) Late, do 5 push ups immediately. No hum or haws. You have to do it.
2) Greet the seniors before and after practice.
3) No rudeness.
4) 101% commitment.
5) Produce MC for absence.

YOU CAN DO IT CHOIR. We are one big family. Never be shy to voice out whether it is in choir practice, the facebook page, or the tagboard here.

There's still more improvements to be made. OKAY!! Altos was AWESOME today!! Haha! Sopranos were awesome too :) As you know today's dance practice was... You know what i mean... I no need to say this again.... I just dont understand why everytime you dance as a whole... You become messy.... you must listen to the beat of the song and stop looking at others!! You must be sure of your dance move cos you all are awesome gals!! BELIEVE IN YOURSELF FOR GOODNESS SAKE! Sigh.... Oh, your discipline wasn't good... You keep talking and talking all the time... Why like this huh?!? Is it so important? I also realize that some of you use your cell during choir practice... You know the rules. In general , today's practice was not that bad .
And yay ! we finished the song akatonbo :D so pleaaasee go home and practiceee . Remember to start memorizing all the scores especially 'hear the music' . And when you guys are sitting down in the av , please sit up straight and breathe the correct way when singing .

However , discipline is still not that good . You guys are still too chatty and noisy despite the many 'shhhh' we gave . Dont try to test our patience okay . Or mr wong's patience as i know that he is getting irritated by this . Please do not talk when he is teaching . Especially when he is examining another section as it will be hard for them to listen to him . The only major problem with you guys is that you do not know when to talk and when not to talk . So i believe you guys can work on it and improve on it (:

Another thing would be your attendance . Comon people ! Time is running up ! Every single practice is veryyy important so you cant miss out on any ! Please ask your friends who are not regular in their attendance to come especially those who are involved in the year end concert and honk kong trip .

How are you guys doing? I'm Carinda btw. And i hope you're enjoying the new song,AH KAH TON BO! Its so jappish and awesome. You know. I'm in love with it if you're not. So you should. Yeah. So anyway, i have noticed that some of your choir mates are not attending choir,and i, very sincerely, would like to ask you beautiful souls here to please ask your lovely choir friends to attend choir at EVERY PRACTICE. You can't just come once and miss the next 2 practices. Choir practice is very important. Every single one of them. Yay.
So now what are we working on?
OUR SPECIAL ITEM! The dance, which is a mash of the committee'11 dance and the winner's group's, is improving day by day lol. So yeah you're gonna learn it soon. Be excited. Maybe its not what you would expect but trust me. Its good. And we're working hard on it.
The committee now is working extremely hard to make our performances a great success, and all we're expecting from you is full attendance,101% committment and some time of yours at home, just to take out your scores and sing for 10 min. Even just 5 min, its good enough. You'll get good karma if you do good things like read the blog often, practice, and commit etc. So please do so :)

so on mon,we had to retake the video for the performance at hk.as what mr wong said,you guys are v inconsistent. if you guys cannot even perform in front of a camera -_-"....then how are you going to perform in front of a huge crowd of ppl for the concert and at hk??so, i hope to c more improvement from all of you.don get affected by your surrounding.focus on our priority and put in our very best. :)
the altos also had sectionals on the wind.im sure you guys know where the problem lies within this section right...you guys need to improve on your airy voice.i know it is not easy.but it has to be done.use your diaphragm ,not your throat.this goes out to everyone!!

Hello choir! Jiaqi here! :D

I am glad that most of you have attended both practices on tuesday and thursday as Mr Wong was present. It is also the last practice before the exam break. We have learnt a new song "Hear the Music" and re learnt parts for the "The Wind" SAB version. It should be easier for us to grasp onto our new parts for "The Wind" since I'm sure most of us has heard all the different parts before. As for "Hear the Music" it is a very short song, so it should be easy to remember.

After the exam break, we will be learning two new songs that will be used for both the End Of Year concert as well as the Hong Kong trip, so we must know our parts well for the songs that we have already learnt so as to save time to learn the other two songs well. Also, do expect to have practice thrice a week. We must get a GOLD for the competition and do really well for the concert... and for Mr Wong's surprise ;D shhhhh, don't say it. hahaha. x)

If anyone of you are interested to design the poster for the concert, please do so and hand it up to Mr Wong the next practice after the exams. :D The title of the concert is going to be "Singspiration"!~ It is not confirmed though so if you guys think you have better names, you can suggest it to Mr Wong as well :)

As for the payment for the Hong Kong trip, please remember to bring and pass up all of your edusave forms and cheques by this coming Tuesday, if not you'll not be able to go to Hong Kong.Oh yes, we'll be having a choir tee soon, so be prepared to bring about $13 on Tuesday as well :D

Thursday's practice ->
Attendance for that day's practice was not bad. Everyone was on time and was cooperative even though Mr Wong was not present. We need to see more of this in every practice so that we'll be able to do well for the year end concert and in hongkong :)

Sop 1s - Good job on the loud singing! But do know when to talk, and when not to, especially when Janice is teaching the rest of the sections their parts.
Sop 2s - From what I see, you guys are not very sure of your parts for "Still I Rise". Also, sop2s cant really be heard as well. Do speak up if you're not sure of your parts and sing louder as well.
Altos - Even though it's a big section but sometimes, your will get influenced by the sops and start singing the wrong notes. Do listen out to your own section while singing as well. Some of the voices are sticking out, please try to blend in with the rest..~

as previously mentioned, this song is very choral so we must all try to blend in together for a good result :) its a song that we'll be singing for both of the big events we'll be having at the end of the year, so we must do well! :D

Also, please hand in all of your planning for the special item for our year end concert this coming week. Don't forget to practice your scores and take note that choir is on tuesday instead of monday this week! :D Those who hadn't pay choir fund for this month (sept) please do so!! :D

The year end concert is not something we can plan at the last minute . I want us to be at top-form for the concert and Hongkong. We can do it, but if we all don't work together, nothing , NOTHING is going to turn out as good as we originally planned it to be.

I'm going to try to make this a lengthy post because i rarely update. So i need to summarize all my points into one post. So basically,the hongkong trip is MORE than confirmed. Its undergoing planning,and before you know it,you're on the plane,flying to hongkong! As we all know,the briefing made us all excited (yay) and we are definitely looking forward to that trip the most amongst everything we are preparing to achieve. So lets do ourselves proud and make our trip worthwhile! ^^

And also,those who handed up the gowns before Thursday (25/08/11),i sincerely thank you. You people are responsible and awesome. However,those who didn't,we would like you to know that you have inconvenienced a lot of us by you inconsideration. Sure,you can forget once or twice,and at the very most,forget thrice. But hey,we asked for the gowns practically weeks before the deadline itself. Why is it that you guys didn't bring it? There definitely could not be any excuse for not being able to bring it,for so many weeks! And you guys didn't even bother to tell us that you didn't bring your gowns,whatsoever. Just because Elena and Josie is lenient doesn't mean you can trample all over them alright? Do reflect,if you know you're one of those who didn't being their gowns.

Attendance! Sec 1s,i'm extremely satisfied. Yay. Sec 3s,great job,keep it up as well. However,sec 2s,improve on your attendance please. There are certainly many people with consistent attendance,but some others are the black sheep,pulling down the reputation of the sec 2s. Tssk tssk tssk. Please don't be one of the black sheeps. I want to see improvements in attendance please! :)

Remember to practice may it be and butterfly especially. and if you don't know how to sing some parts of it, please ask. or mr wong will have to repeat teaching us how to sing the same song over and over again. also altos please sing louder. sops try to project your voice out. when either sections is learning their parts, please don talk loudly and disrupt them or i stuff tissue paper in your mouth! haha but i mean it. dont talk among yourself especially during debrief or when mr wong is talking. Before I forget , I want to thank the whole choir for co-operating with me on Wednesday though I was really grumpy.teehee.

The choir was great today .I really really really hope the choir will be like this on Monday.

Every single one of you should be proud,honoured and really excited that you're performing.

So how do we make this performance a success ? Just 2 things guys .Just 2.

1) Sing like you never sang before.
2) Smile like there's no tomorrow.

Please read this section its just personal advice ,you all have to read:

I know how it feels to be scared on stage.Dont be nervous ,your friends are with you.

Look at the exit sign .Dont look at your feet .Stand up straight ,dont fidget.

Do choir proud .Sing out loud .Dont be lazy towards the end of in the heartbeat.

Remember your actions .Be sure of your movements, ask your friends or ask the committee members.We did it in the AV theatre ,we can do it again.So what do you do now ? Practice ! Its sounds really cheesy ,I use to think so too but I can promise you guys that it helps.Remember what you all promised Carinda ?To be as hyper as you all are today :)

Common mistakes the choir make :

1) Not on time for "In a heartbeat " we cant afford to make these mistakes
2) Being very lazy towards the end of the song
3) Forgetting your movement,we will go through on Monday again .
4) Very airy ,please use diaphragm.
5) For high notes take in a deeeeeep breath before that.

Well im here to give you a review on Monday’s (18 July) practice. First of all, your discipline wasn’t up to standard. You were very chatty and fidgety on that day. Just because Mr Wong isn’t around, doesn’t mean you can not behave well and slack. I believe that you guys do want to impress him with your beautiful voices when he comes for Thursday’s practice. Who wants to be discriminated by him? You tell me personally arh. You guys have the potential of singing well and so let’s show him that, okay. Ohya, please stop fidgeting cos it’s so UNGLAM. REVIEW OF TODAY's PRACTICE (woo so scary)

EH LOHS EVERYBODY. YO! This blog need to be more ALIVE. even though it's a non living thing. okay lol. BUT TAG MORE & also comment on Facebook especially the sec 1s and 2s. Yeap yeap.

so lower sec ... enjoying your ISPL week? well i heard today's attendance is not very good eh. You guys need to improve on your attendance and come for choir. We have more things to do than you guys and we turn up every session. so .. now SYF is over, we can play games! YAY (leave a comment in tag box if you want to request for any games :D) So please improve on that. and i also heard that you guys learn a new song. May It Be by Lord of the Rings. *GO HOME AND PRACTICE yah? don't make Mr Wong repeat those part that we already learn. Remember your sitting and standing postures and watch discipline when Mr Wong is talking.

For the next practice, remember to bring your notebooks and those needs amend their gowns for alteration such as the those that are without the beads at the side of the gown also bring it by next Monday. I'm here to give a review about today (monday the 27th)'s practice!
But first of all, i'ld like to let you all know that it's not really easy to stand up there and lead! So i really hope that you guys will give the new committe and yourselves some time to get used to it ! ^^ Looking forward to more awesome times with the awesome choirpeeps!

Okay, back to the point.
Today's singing was... you guys know. There's room for ALOT of improvement guys! (dynamics, loudness) I know it's kinda weird that you don't hear the previous' committees voices that much anymore, you have new faces leading you and the sec4s are gone . Not to mention that we have fewer people in choir! Pleasseee sing your best in choir! When you give 110% of effort during practices, you don't have to worry about being nervous during performances, because you'll drop to at least 90% or even better, 100%. WE HAVE FAITH IN EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU. We can do this but there needs to be more effort put in!

Oh! sec 1s! don't be shy when we ask you questions :) we're all a family so just feel free to say your opinions and/or reply to us when we ask a question! That's about all, remember to remind your friends to attend choir this thursday 3.15pm @ music room!

hahhahs, so i hoped that those that came yesterday really enjoyed yourselves.
though not many of you know it but, i like to thank the sec3s for the party they held for the graduating seniors after the syf showcase, and that touching video clip! (awww)

outgoing committee:
hey guys, thanks so much for everything, putting up with my lame jokes ._. and strictness at times. accepting me as your chairman from the start and work hand in hand with me, striving to improve choir. will never forget the moments that we were the last few to leave the school (until we intended to jump down.. :D) or the first few to reach school and those excursion to buy choir things. you guys are the best! :)
thanks huiyin, belvy, xiaopei, huishan, alynn and jodi, thanks so much for your committments and your dedication to choir :) theres so much to thank for, but i suddenly duno how to type out @.@ hmmm, just rmb that i will miss our times together! and rmb our dances during the day-camps? :D hahas

i will rememer all the experiences we shared together, from when we were innocent sec1s where we had our first choir camp, to sec2 our first SYF, suppposingly-to-go-malaysia-but-didnt-go, first concert at victoria concert hall and wanrong as our spastically-funny awesome chairman and her awesome committee, and sec3 the new committee as joewin as our chairman and our first BBQ together. those are priceless memories that we shared and i will forever rmb them :D

Heyy Choir. :D

I haven't posted on the blog like for so long.

Hmm, since like yesterday that I just entered choir.

So many things to learn. :D

And I believe, I have learnt what my seniors taught me.

And now, I am doing the same, by teaching you what my seniors told me.

Do you know?

Choir is a very unique CCA.

Unlike other CCA, we are the main attraction.

Our instrument is not a machine or any tool, but our beautiful voice.

That's what I thought when I entered choir. :D

Well, looking back, 4 years past by quickly.

Before I know it, I am participating in the SYF this year.

Its through such tough events, that the choir can bond together.

I know the committee has been like nagging and being so harsh on you guys.

We hope you understand. :D

We really love you guys very much.

We'll definitely miss you guys when we leave.

Don't ever forget us, yeah? :D

1. SYF people pls report at 7.30am in the music room in either pe attire/dressdownday, DO NOT TIE YOUR HAIR , reserves report by 11.30am in the musicroom.

7. LOOK through your scores and previous theory tests and also your note book.
8. CONCENTRATE on MR WONG tomorrow when he is conducting, dont anticipate the notes! [focus]!
9. FACIAL EXPRESSIONS, PRONOUNNCIATION OF WORDS-vowels and consonants, DYNAMICS!!!!
10. Tiptoe when walking on stage tmr and grab your gowns to the right side when you walk!!

hi. its like 2 more days to SYF. im soooo excited and looking foward to it, im sure you guys are toi right? its like the moment we have all been waiting for!!

anyways to comment on your singing today, there is an improvment in the pitching of the wind, so pls keep up the good work and MAINTAIN AND IMPROVE! for butterfly, pls THINK LOWWWW. especially sop2s. work on your breathing at home. it doesnt requires singing so it wont embarass you in front of other people. breathe deep and low. diudiudang, everybody's ''hohohohoho'' part is stilll getting sharper each time you sing. so please think low and keep your breathe low. tomorrow is the final practice before SYF, please please please please put in more effort during practice.

i know you guys are tired, push yourself to the limit until you cant do it anymore. remember, ''you decide what you take away not what you get'' the decisions lies in you. if you give up on youself, then you will face the conseqences.

and please understand the committee"s frustrations, we are really trying our best not to scold and nag at you guys when you sing wrongly, im sure most of the parts we worked on or talked about wasnt the first time we mentioned it. the committee feels sad after each practice when you guys dont sing well.

when we scold you, we dont scold for the fun of it. there is always a reason. somtimes you give us attitude faces, and mumble under your breath, it actually make us feel that we are not being a good leader and disheartened. then after choir we would like talk about it if we're too fierce or asking too much from you guys. some of you guys no matter how many times we ask you to sing out, you just ignore us, everytime after scolding you guys, its like we are scolding ourselves, because we didnt teach you guys well enough and its our fault..

we actually feel guilty for scolding you guys. do you guys even feel guilty for making us scold you?..

when we tell you guys, we really hope you learn from your mistakes and then we dont have to repeat and we can improve. but if you dont, then we have to repeat and scold. which spoils everyone's moods.

we were once juniors too, we know how it feels to be scolded by seniors and we know the feeling. sometimes we did put in effort and others didnt, then we get the scoldings too. its unfair. i know. but you will realise in due course that being a senior aint easy. much more being someone that scolds you all the time playin the bad guy. we feel sad for ourselves. we are not asking you guys to do much, buy for us things or anything, we are not materialistic people. all we want is you to give 999% effort when singing. and appreciate our good intentions. and be more enthu for choir! thats not too much to ask for right? :)

and please stop dily dehilying when we ask you to do something, we're running out of time. when we open the door, pls hurry up rush in and push back the chairs and settle down, alrights? continue to practice and im sure the bronze will be ours! dont strain your voice and think when you sing! ''make every note you sing worth something!!''

hey choir, im sure you guys have learnt alot of things from the exchange proggramme. our choir is about the same size as theirs, about 50 peeps. even though our voice projection is much louder then theirs, but our pitching and colour of our voice are all over the place. our notes accuracy is not up to standard yet. work on the points mr wong told you and inform the other friends that are not here today. buy at least i heard an improvement from thursday, continue to strive and we will definitely see more improvement, and by then we will be able to acheive our silver. right now, its maybe a bronze? come on guys, we've been talking about SYF since last year. nows the time, our final lap, the last 100m of this long journey, we shall give our all and do our very best. so refrain from eating fried, spicy and over-sweet food and drinks that puts your voices at risk. just to inform you guys, there is a reserve list and there are already afew names appearing on that list. we will inform those people whose name has appeared on the list. theses ppl, you might not get a chance to perform on syf itself but you will go with us to the venue. so im sure all of you want to be in the syf list and be a part of this competition. its going to be the last or the first syf that some of us are experincing. 6days, dont lose momentum. continue to practice everyday for about 15mins of so with the recording. as we have such little time left, we are going to have sectionals on tuesday too. so next week the schedule as followed: 1.MONDAY (MUSICROOM) 3PM TO 7PM 2.TUESDAY (MUSICROOM) 3PM TO 5PM-tentative, comfirm on monday with you guys. 3.WEDNESDAY (MUSICROOM) 2.30PM TO 4PM (EAT LUNCH AFTER CHOIR/HAVE HEAVY MEAL DURING RECESS) 4.THURSDAY (MUSICROOM) 3PM TO 6PM 5. i really dont know how to comment on your singing yesterday. but im sure i can sum it up with one word, disappointed. Thursday is the performance for Mr Toh ans Ms Lee. Saturday is the exchange proggramme with other schools. Mr Wong even said that SOTA's hall was the worst place to sing in. with yesterday standards, i have a bleak expectation. ... i read your reflections, every single one. i understand that many of you are not musically educated and dont know how to pitch your voice correctly to the perfect tone and note. if thats the case then you should have told us during sectionals to clear ALL doubts. but in any the case we will try to teach you all by monday. so sunday night i want eeryone to have an early sleep, so that you wont feel tired during sectionals. and also, monday sectioals we would most probably end sectionals at 6.30pm the earliest. Do let your parents know if they they are picking you up or expecting you home before a certain time. Dont over strain your voice over the weekend, if you are unwell do see a doctor. this are the links that we let you guys hear on monday, you can download the video/convert itinto a song into your phones and sing with it. listen out more to other section's voices in the video then sing along. listen out for your parts in the video and blend your voice. use your head voice and not your throat voice to sing, got to use your diaphragm. practice and show us a greater improvement on monday - 3pm outside music room.

Hi choir . You all should know that SYF is in 14 days time . Yes, only 14 = exactly 2 weeks . Our performance yesterday was totally disappointing. Even worse than wednesday's . I believe you all can see how Mr Wong felt too right ? SYF is coming, and as he said, we need to polish up all the flaws and minor details of the pieces in order not to lose marks during SYF . But with the singing yesterday, the songs were not even sang on tune . And important breath points, going sharp going flat flying everywhere, the notes were all over the place. It is not just the effort that we put in, I believe all of you had put in effort . But it's about whether you use your brains to sing . Think of the notes, memorise the scores, put in the effort to make yourself in tune. Memorising the scores thoroughly as mentioned by Mr Wong . Be a singer that thinks and not just sing blindly just for the sake of singing . That is what we learn in choir that others DO NOT . So why not put what we have learnt in use ? Especially the seniors, most of you have been in choir for 3 or more years, you guys should've known by now right ? As mentioned before, the committee, sec 4-5's are helping YOU GUYS . Most of us had already attained an A1 for our cca, FYI . Why are we still here ? To help you guys get the award that you guys aim for . Think about it, you are the one benefiting after this year's SYF. After SYF, we are going to step down and the sec 4-5's are going to leave . We don't get the benefit okay . In the future and the next generation, will depend much on this year's SYF . We are taking our O levels this year, we have much more homework, test, and stress inflicted on us . Yet we still take out time to give you guys extra sectionals . Do you think it's fair for us ? To be rushing our homework late after choir ? And then you guys give us such crap singing . Would you even know how we feel ? I hope you guys have given some serious thought on the issue . If there is still no improvement during the next practice, enough . You guys can practice on your own . No choir practice . Then when SYF comes, we can go up the stage, embarrass ourselves in front of a crowd and get a COP for nut's sake . Nobody wants that right ? The committee is truly disappointed today. the reason is very obvious. why do you guys have to do this? 16days to syf. Tomorrow is your diudiudang auditions. We dont want to see anyone failing your auditions that was why we were drilling on DDD today. but you guys didn take sectionals seriously and fooled around during mass singing. We dont enjoy scolding you as much as you feel getting scolded. its VERY IRRITATING to repeat ourselves over and over again. today's practice was suppose to end at 5pm latest. but we ended at 6.15pm look at how much time we have wasted? Don't know what is the problem with you guys. we spoke very nicely, tell you nicely that you are singing wrongly, rhythm wrong. dont even get me started on facial expressions. And then you took our kindness for granted. WHY! you tell me. 16days. that is about 2weeks away. You dont feel anxious we do you know, we dont want to be that CCA that is always being looked down on anymore. We want to shine and show the school that Damai choir is no ordinary choir. But you guys are not doing your part in fufiling this common goal that we have. we asked you guys what you wanted to acheive. you said SILVER. but today's standards. C>O>P. certifcate of participation=no CCA points. IS THAT WHAT YOU GUYS WANT? We remind you time and time again about 1.DYANMICS. 2.PITCHING/COLOUR OF YOUR VOICE. 3. FACIAL XPRESSIONS. 4. Hello:D
Finally its the weekend,hows the first week of term 2???For those who have fallen sick,please take care of your health and rest well over the weekend,I hope to see the number of people sitting at the back drop on Monday.21 days left,if you do not recover by then,how are you going to sing for SYF?For those who have been sick for the past few weeks,you guys have miss out on a lot of singing,so please take care of your health.

Can you guys stop complaining,its very irritating.We just make you guys stand to sing the songs for a few times,and after a while,we hear you complaining that your feets are arching.You're not the only one standing right,if others don't complain then can you stop complaining.On the day of SYF,you have to walk around in heels the whole day,if you can't even stand still with school shoes,how are you going to walk or stand a whole day with heels?

The points Mr Wong went through with us yesterday,its not his first time going through them right,example the breathing points for BUTTERFLY,how many times did he repeat when to sing and when not to sing.I really hope that you guys will take time to study your scores over the weekend.

As for your attendance,why is it that other schools can produce better attendance then us?Why do Mr Wong have to come each week and question us about our attendance,by now he should be focusing on our pieces,and not our attendance.I really hope that you guys will reflect on this.
And for the people who turn up,thank you,we really appreciate it.However,I hope that you will give your all for the practice,since your already there,can you try your best to make improvements and remember the points that we told you to take note of,and not repeat them.

okay hello choir.
yea i know what most of you guys dont like the tone were talking in today. i dont like it too. the leaders dont like it too.
but the leaders are really at lost already.
just look around. without the sec1s, how many people turned up today?.. a pathetic number of 29.
yes, out of 45 people. thats ONLY HALF. why?
i really dont know what to do to make you guys realise the importance of syf.

the wind, not much comments but the actions must be more obvious! like how RIVERSIDE DID IT. it is nice as a whole when everyone sways together. but still we have only learnt yeasterday and have not broken out of the -shyshy- barrier, but im sure with more practice, you guys will automatically sway without us queing you in to sway.

so please spent some time practicing your parts at home. we willl try to do up the recording of the songs and send to you guy asap so that you can practice at home. we will work on the rhythmic part on monday.

Thanks for all the effort you guys put in today.
As you guys have heard what Mr Wong said during the debrief. I know that you guys don't want to get a C.O.P.
right,you guys work so hard all this months, I think we can get something better than a C.O.P.
But overall,I feel that you guys did improve on Butterfly, keep up the good work, a little more practice and it will sound better.

Oh yeah, for those who did not come today, I want to tell you guys that we are very disappointed with you,even the sec1s attendance is better than you guys and they are your juniors!!!What is this!!!

Did you know that most of you who skip today are seniors and are ALL in SYF.Especially the sop 2s,do you know that the entire first row of sop 2s are missing(excluding the sec 1s who turn up) and some from the back row.
Because of this the sop 2s had a very difficult time when we combined.You guys have also missed out on a lot of things today,for your info,most of the other schools were better than us and especially their members attendance which was wayyyy better than ours.

They did not have any sec1s joining them and they were able to sing even better than us.Mr wong even had to explain to them why there are many absentees.

He did not have any attendance problem with his other choir at all,I really hope that those who did not turn up today will reflect about your attitude.

For those who came today,well done,I hope that you guys have learnt some things from today's exchange and also put in your best efforts for every practices:)

yes tomorrow is our performance, so i'm sure you guys dont want to be embarassed in front of other schools right? so pls, look through your scores before you sleep so that your mind is refreshed with the things that mr wong mentioned today!

and also pls rmb to bring along your syf shoes 7.40am in canteen, including the boys!

and PLS PLS PLS stop making mr wong repeat himself when he is teaching. and also PLS PLS PLS improve your self-discipline. i know you guys are tired from the packed holiday practices, homework, remedials etc. but remember that everyone else is also busy. you are not the only one..

and pls ah can all of you guys put in effort to sing out loud, simple things like sitting up straight when you are sitting down, we should'nt be reminding you all theses.

well from what the committee heard there was an improvement from last week so good job!

however dont be complacent we got to MAINTAIN AND IMPROVE!

im sure that you guys can sing even better on thursday to wow mr wong, so pls PRACTICE at home. we cant do much when the choir practices we have with you are so little and short.

and hey, i know that nowsadays some cca are like saying ''i pity choir'', ''choir sucks''. but im sure deep down in you thats not how you feel right? (hopefully thats not how you feel!!)

we did the friendship dance today and im sure most of you had enjoyed it right? :) ahahs -choir secret!- so dont be bothered by what others say. stay strong on your beliefs and enjoy the remaining time you spend in choir. and make the best out of it!

ok.. so discipline today, we can see an improvement but you guys keep forgetting to close the door! remember ah, last person close the door. if not all the air con will flow out then might as well switch off the air con right?

and you guys got to control being over talkative! i know its boring sometimes when other sections are being taught and your section has nothing to do.

you could listen for the leaders if they are singing the wrong note, note their facial expression, standing posture, or you can look at your score and revise the points that you have to take note. you can use your time more efficiently like this instead of chatting away, at the same time, it trains you to be more focus on the things you do. it can be applied on life! woots :)

and pls settle down as fast as possible so that the leaders dont have to raise our voice ok?

ok, so basically my 2nd last thing is your singing today;

sop1s: wasnt that bad, but have to work on your pitching cause you tend to go sharp. especially butterfly and diu diu dang. work hard! :)

sop2s: hmm, you guys are the 2nd largest section in choir, doesnt mean more people you can slack and singing softer. thats a wrong concept ah! all the more you have to sing out. because altos and sop1s are very audible from far as the are singing high and low pitches compared to your middle-tone pitch you gotta sing louder than them in order to stand out, you guys are the harmonizer that balance the sound in choir, so if you are soft, sop1s will sing sharper and sharper, whereas altos will go flat. see you guys are important ok. so seniors pls coach and encourage your juniors! practice on all the songs! WORK HARDER!! :)

altos: not to bad, but you have to work on the timing on diu diu dang, especially when you start to change the tempo in the song in diu diu dang, and the high notes in butterfly. i notice some of you cant reach the notes. so what you can do at home is do some warm up. since all of us know the basic notes already, you can actually go online and search a piano on the internet and so some simple warm ups before you sing. other than that your performance today was alright :) practice more in your entry points!

overall:

a comment from mr wong mun wai was that you guys dont listen to other sections when you are singing, you guys are to concentrated on your parts until you have no idea when to come in until we play on the piano or when mr wong or belvy que you guys in.

so pls take a look at your scores and at which bar, after what section sing finnish of sing what note then you have to come in and sing your part. in that way it also lets you get farmilarised with the song and you can sing from any parts that we ask you to sing from. :)

SO LETS WORK HARD AS A WHOLE. AND ATTAIN OUR RIGHTLY DESERVED SILVER AND PROVE OTHERS WRONG.

Also pls look more alive during choir sessions. I don't know what's the problem with you guys,everytime like no mood to sing. it makes us difficult to capture your attention and make you feel 'welcomed' in choir. and sing the songs in expressive ways.
you guys dont come to choir for the sake of coming, some of you even if you came, you still show us attitude then dont want to sing out loud. im getting really tired of reminding you guys about ur facial expressions, dynamics, when to breathe when not to breathe, attendance, discipline, initiative etc. but apparently you guys treat our scolding and reminders as wind passing by your ears and then say that we are too fierce, too strict, too naggy.
can you guys dont take us for granted? one day. ONE DAY, the committee wil be so pissed of until we will walk out of the room. We don't want your to really thank us for whatever that we do,but at least appreciate the efforts that we put in can?...

As you all already know there is practice on Monday,9am,in the music room.
I expect full attendance from everyone,except for those who have already told us your reasons.Practice from now on will be very tiring,and may be a little boring but you still have to put in your very best,ok!
We really do not have much time left till SYF,which is on 15 April(If I am correct).
I want full attendance from everyone for every practice,even sectionals.

alsoooo, if you notice, the timings for the march holiday practices are not stated for mondays practice. we will update the choir blog and the board by this friday, so check it out frequently before you go for your camps etc. annndd, if you are wondering the attire for holiday practices, its any school related attire. uniforms, pe, choir tee are acceptable. no slippers, school rules.

so pls memorise your ddd and practice the other songs. we will touch up the songs on monday and over the holidays. :)

heeeeellloo! yea im using school computer to update. hahahahas!

anyways, monday practice really showed us that you didnt put in effort to go home and practicew! hmph.. also take note of the respective things we mentioned:

1. attendance-stillls need improvement!

2. singing-practice! can be better. i heard you guys sound like angels last time im sure you can sound like them again! :)

3. syf heels for all sec1s and those that havent bought their shoes-this friday, after sports day, meet at the main gate of bedok stadium ard 12pm. rmb to bring $21 for the heels.

4. angel and mortal game-due date this friday write a letter to your mortal about 3 things you like about choir, 3 things you like other than choir and 2 things you dislike about choir! :)

5. respect-we had surface this issue many times and yet we dont see a better self discipline and the respect the teachers and the seniors deserve from you.. why?? self reflect!! >:/

6. hair length-yea this is important :) pls get your hair cut before term 2 starts! from term 2 onward try notto cut your hair cause we want everyone to have long and nice hair to tie up, with no baby hair strains flying around! those with short hair, pls only leave your hair long after syf, so keep your hair above your shoulder so that you look neat!! :)

7. sectionals-there is another update: tomorrow's sectionals for sec 1 will continue, 2.45pm to 4pm for no swimming people, and 4pm to 5.15pm for those with swimming. bring the wind and butterfly scores.
the rest of the choir, there is some slight changes to the schedule of the sectionals, we will update you once we have comfirmed again. sorry!

also, check out diudiudang on youtube, i will a video of one of the choir singing DDD over the weekends. thursday starts at 3.15PM! :) CYA

HELLO!
so thurs singing of diudiudang (DDD) was alrights. we're going to have more practices on monday! but still at least try to rmb the rhythm of your parts so that it would be easier for us to teach on monday ya? :)

also, i realise that attendance for the lower sec is still not improving. why so? we did mention that commontest is not an excuse. some of you didnt even imform us that you're not coming for choir. why like that?? :/

we dont like to chase you guys for your excuses you know. if you are not interested in choir pls inform us so that we dont have to have a misunderstanding about your disappearance from choir sessions.

ALSSOOOO, you guys make sure you practice the wind and butterfly too. especially those that didnt do well for the theory test. rmb the 5 teaching points belvy taught you guys.

anyways i found this cool girl called maria, she is 10years old and is already a super, awesome , fantastic singer. her youtube video was viewed by millions. check it out! :) take note of her facial expressions even though she was singing a pop song! and her notes are very accurate. and fyi, she is 10 years old! OMG right? hahahhs

Hello,your singing was better on Thursday,I could hear the dynamics in the song.However,I hope that you will do the same for each practice,even when Mr Wong is not around.Keep up the good work,and try to make improvement for each practice:)Now about the attendance,I hope to see improvement in your attendance,there are more and more people who do not turn up for practices.We know when you're lying to us,but we trust that you will make the right choice,apparently you guys take it for granted.Can you stop giving us excuses,we have made it very clear the last time that we do not accept anything other than MC.Excuses like family matters,family gatherings,dental appointments,tuition,death of pets,sore throat etc will not be accepted.If you have sore throat,it is still compulsary for you to come for choir,you may rest at the back,but you still have to listen to the important points.For the sec 1s who are reading this post,please note that it is compulsary for you to attend both session of choir practice every week.Those who have swimming lessons every Thursday,please make it for the practice on Monday,as you have already miss out on a lot of things,as compared to your friends who have been attending both practices.Also,if you cannot make it for any practice,you must sms or inform us before the next practice,it is very irritating when we have to call you to find out your whereabouts.Read Sharleen's post below about your attendance,we hope to see improvement on Mon.Good luck for your common test:D

HELLOOO! :) SO YESTERDAY'S SINGING WASNT BAD. YOU GUYS MANAGE TO FORM AN OVERTONE, WHICH SOUNDED REALLY NICE IF YOU COULD HEAR IT! HAHAHS. ANYWAYS, PLS MAKE SURE THAT YOU STUDY YOUR SCORE! THERE WILL BE A THEORY TEST ON MONDAY ON THE WIND AND BUTTERFLY. ITS A WRITTEN THING, AND YOU'RE GIVEN 20MINS TO COMPLETE THE WHOLE PAPER. THE SEC1S WOULD NOT BE TAKING THE TESTS, YOU'LL BE HAVING SECTIONALS WITH THOSE THAT FAILED YESTERDAY'S AUDITIONS. YUPP. OK. HAHS :) FOR THOSE THAT HAVE NOT PASSED YOUR PRESENTS/LETTER TO YOUR MORTALS PLS DO SO. CAUSE SOME OF THEM-THAT I KNOW- IS DYING TO KNOW WHO IS THEIR ANGELS!! AHAS.
