Choir practice

Hellloooo choir! Well, your attendance on Monday was pretty good other than a handful of people who did not come! I hope you will keep this up:)! Remind your friends who have been missing choir practice to come as we are learning the new piece and I'm sure they would not want to be lagging behind:/! The discipline was just average although, there were times when ALL of you really listen to Mr Wong when he was talking! I hope to see more of that during the next practice:):)!  Another good thing is you kept your chairs and did not leave any extra chairs behind:)

As most of you already know we will not be using the AV theatre for choir practice this Friday onwards due to the Sec 4&5s examinations. We will using the Harmony Room again! There is choir practice this Friday.

Choir

Hi choir! It has been a really long time since I post in the blog. I hope all of you are doing fine. As you all know, the previous choir session was cancelled due to the bad haze condition. 

First and foremost I will be talking about the previous choir session on the 3rd of June. Although the attendance was pretty bad, most of you had a valid reason for not coming. The discipline was good that day. You paid attention when mr Wong was talking, so that's a good thing! I hope you will continue being well-disciplined!:)! 

Now the important part, 

THERE WILL BE CHOIR on Monday, 1/07/2013. 

Time to report: 3pm ( for Sec 3s who ends at 3, you can have your lunch as usual before reporting)

Venue: AV theatre 

What to bring: Black file, Scores, Water Bottle and Extra money for choir fund for those who haven't paid for the past few months.

In case you do no know how much to pay for the choir fund, it's $1 for the month of June:)

I hope to see all of you tomorrow outside the AV theatre at 3pm:) rest well and stay healthy!!

The day we have been looking forward to is finally arriving.

Time Plan on Monday

6.20am-6.30am : Settling down

6.30am-6.40am : Physical Warmup

6.40am-6.50am : Briefing for SYF

6.50am-7.05am : Changing into costume

7.05am-7.15am : Breakfast :-) 

7.15am-7.45am : Make Up

7.45am-8.00am : Vocals 

8.00am-8.45am : Mr Wong takes over

8.45am-9.45am : Travelling to SOTA

9.45am-10.30am : Registration, backstage rehersal

10.30am : SHOWTIME :DDDDDD

-Black hair clip, Black hair band and bobby pins 

Things to take note

-Wear safety shorts ( skin colour,black)

-If you have contacts, where them. (transparent only)

-Your strap. You know what to do.

1. Fix your eyes on Mr Wong ALL THE TIME.

2. Strictly no fidgeting.

3.Smile (Show that you are interested!! )

4.Enjoy your performance ( Move to the music )

Attire:
Any bright coloured top except for red (reserved for maryam)
No Vulgarity/Obscene words,No spagetthi,sleeveless,tubes.
Bottom: Long jeans/pants (At least knee-length)
Shoes: Sneakers/flats/School shoe
If you are wearing dress, make sure your strap cannot be seen and wear leggings

Things to bring:
Water Bottle
Cny lyrics sheet
Plasters (Optional)

Things to take note:
-Curtains will NOT close after 1st song
-Move quickly after first songbut don't look panicky
-Stay on stage after 2nd song.We will sing 财神到 to close concert
-Leave some space for enthic dancers to exit in backstage

Most importantly:
-MEMORIZE THE LYRICS (esp those holding mic)
-STRICTLY NO TALKING BACKSTAGE
-LOOK CONFIDENT ;DDD

Important Updates

Hi Guys, Kayseng here.
Here are some important updates so read e-v-e-r-y-s-i-n-g-l-e word.

1. Change of Concert Timing
As some of you may know, Mr Wong has decided to only do one show which is 5pm - 6pm. For those of you who have relatives going for the 6pm-7pm show, inform them that the timing of the concert has changed. The price of the ticket is still $10 -yay-

2.Bedok Town Secondary School Practice on 6 SeptFor those of you who do not know how to travel to Bedok Town Sec, meet Mrs Ang on 8.20am @ Bedok Interchange Bus 225 queue ( green plate) Mrs Ang will bring us there. Student Leaders involved in SL CAMP, you must still come to rehearsal. You will proceed back to school for camp after 1pm. ( Approved by Mr Sheik so don't try to escape >:D ) 

3.No CCA on Monday, 10 SeptemberI know this must be your favourite part of the whole post. There's no CCA on Monday, 10 Sept because there will be Performing Arts Day on Thursday, 13 Sept. Whole choir please report in blue choir tee. Performers, I will brief you the details. 

4.Toilet Pee Pee IssueGirls, I understand some of you are quite unhappy with the fine for going toilet thing and yes it is quite unreasonable. However you must understand that we do not want you all to go to the toilet and slack and do all funny stuff. But, as reasonable and awesome seniors, the fine rule is scrapped but there is a condition. You must come back within a reasonable timing like within 5 minutes or something. If we think that you are taking too long, we will still fine you. 

5.N Level during September PracticesFor your information, the N Level will be held in the hall during the September Holidays and we are going to use Harmony Room. Therefore, I need your fullest co-operation. KEEP YOUR VOLUME TO THE MINIMAL. ( No, this does not mean singing softly) Don't laugh,giggle and do crazy stuff. It's the N Level we're talking about. When waiting for CCA to start, gather at the right door ( the one nearer to the HOD staff room ) 

6. Littering IssueWe have noticed that you little people like to leave your mineral bottles, USED tissues -ew- and sometimes scores around the harmony room. From now on, the whole choir will take turns to clean up the room, starting from the Sec 3s. Every practice , we will rotate the level on duty. ( Sec3s, Sec2s then Sec1s) We hope that with this duty roster, you guys will keep the room sparkling clean :)

NDP Concert Rehersal

Hey awesome choir people :D
I want to thank all of you for your efforts put in yesterday during our practice. I see you guys enjoying the dance. Continue to put in your effort and bring it up on stage ! The audience don't see our effort. They only see the result . Sad but fact.

Okay guys , Here are some problems for both songs.
Will You- Sing louder ! The audience can hear the manly manly voice from the soundtrack!

- 2nd chorus jumping is not syncronized. ( means all of you jump at different speed,height...) We'll change it to bouncing.

-SMILE -OHMYGOSHTHIS- WE ARE PERFORMERS. PERFORMERS ARE  SUPPOSE TO BRING SMILE TO THE AUDIENCE. IF WE LOOK SAD AND LOOK UNWILLING. WHAT WOULD THE AUDIENCE FEEL ? WOULD YOU LIKE TO WATCH A PERFORMACE WITH SAD PEOPLE ? ( no Im not angry nor am I shouting at you all. I caps it because it's very very very very important)

Reach out for the skies
- Again, Volume. Sing it like you mean it. Singapore! You love your country and the food, the people , the multi racial groups

-Actions are not on beat. Space issues and positions we will settle on Monday. Make your moves passionately. Make it alive !

- Memorise the lyrics of both songs ! There will be a lyrics test on monday !

Okay guys , Choir starts at 3 on Monday. Come in your PE unless you want to be all sweaty and sticky cause we're going to practice the dance.

Remember to bring your : Dark Coloured Jeans/Longpants
                                    : Red/White Top
                                    : Sneakers/Covered Flats
people without flats wear school shoes. No SYF heels allowed.

Sec 1s and 2s , there will be no theory lesson on Monday.
