| Wednesday, May 23, 2012 3:23 PM hello choir mates!!niwanki your chairman here!! now i know it is difficult to sing after that "long" break . all of your voices sounded so rusty and airy .but i also did realise that the choir workshop on monday helped you all a lot. now that all of you know what is the dynamics and how to lift your facial expressions, i should expect all of you doing these during the next practices . do not talk whenever anyone is in the front talking. give the due respect that we deserve. we will have a session next monday so bring your pe attire.the committee has fun games in store.i also want to thank all the people who turned up for monday's practise. if your friends aren't here inform them regarding upcoming sessions.all the people who did not bring the $4.10 for the phillipines world's best choir concert,please bring the money on monday. Kayseng :) Okay , first thing first . Today's discipline is okay . Just okay._. You guys are a bit noisy and chattery when the committee is addressing you guys so pay a little more attention when we are talking in front. Oh and respond please. Responddd. We are talking to awesome elite singers , not the walls or pink chairs in the AV. :) And people , don't whine when we ask you to do stuff like " HUHHHHH Whyyyyyyyy , Whyy cannot like this ! Why cannot like that ? " Every decision we make is to improve and make choir better. You may think that we are being horrible but we are not ! :D Secondly, Congratulations to those people that got into the senior choir ! WOHOOO. Job well done people ! Firstly,I would to announce that I love every single one of you and I will miss you when we step down and not come for choir anymore teehee. Our last session with you guys would be tomorrow and we have wishes .These wishes are to be granted by you little singing angels. 1) Please oh please please be a confident performer on stage! Dont be nervous ,we'll do great on Saturday! Its our last performance with you so please do I us this favour ? 2) Smile ^^ I dont know how to make you smile but every single one of you need to smile during the dance .You must show the world that you are enjoying yourselves on stage. 3) Sharp movements!! I don't want to see sloppy ,lazy fingers and elbows.Put some energy in what you're doing. 4) Nervous ? Look at the exit sign at the back of the hall and imagine you are performing for that green sign .Smile at the green exit sign .Dont worry ,you'll still look good on stage lolol So before the performance remember these 5 wishes from us and grant them and everyone lives happily ever after. Labels: Murni Monday, April 9, 2012 9:48 PM Big Big BIGGGGGGGGGGG Super important post for all of you naughty people in choir. :3 Today was hard core practicing for Thursday AND Speech Day. We had the diaphragm training today whereby everybody stood on chairs, hold the chairs away from their body and sing loser like me & light up the world as loud as possible. And it's good to see everybody trying their best and singing at the top of their voices. :) Even during the dance, everybody sang loudly. That is what we need to see and portray on both the full dress rehearsal AND on speech day itself. We can't possibly make you do this exercise every time before we start dancing; that would be wasting a lot of precious time and I don't think you would like to do it every single time as well. So please, take more initiative, don't make us have to shout at you all the time. It's not nice to do so in front of everybody else. Also here are some of the pointers that we have went through today and keep them in mind when you're practicing at home : - bounce bounce bounce all the time :) BEND YOUR KNEESSSS - SHOCKING ENTRANCE. Smile with your teeth, bring audience the joy of performing! - straight and precise movements during "we got the love alright". Remember that your right shoulder GOES OUT FIRST. And also punch the airrrrr!!! - Keep communication to a minimal when you are moving into light up the world positions. - During the "hey hey hey you" 4 rows part, last row and third row, you have to go down together AT the same time. And for the last one, all of you have to get up AT THE SAME TIME as well. This is very important, otherwise everyone will look really messy and that's not nice :( Above all these points, do take good care of your throat just for this week. No spicy nor fried food, minimize shouting/talking loudly. And drink honey! It's sweet and yummy and helps sooth your throat from today's session. :) Also, friday will be the results of the new committee, so everybody has to come! ^^ That's all from me today. I hate it too when people push you around and make you go all over the place , so you guys really need to be cooperative (: The singing as janice said was not bad . Good job guys . Your tuning is getting better (: keep it up ! And most of you were using diaphragm too . So how did you find the games ? i think it was fun ! But you guys were too chaotic . Chill man ! Maintain your discipline . And please show your respect to Erni and Yan Ran . It was already bad enough that out of all the sec4s , they're the only ones available to present you the game . I bet we wasted loads of time getting you all to settle down and follow instructions . Yes we can have fun and be hyper , no we cannot be ill-disciplined and not listen out/follow instructions . The dancing was ... lets just say i've seen better performance by you all . I know you guys are tired . We've all lose our energy from the games to the dance . So we didnt really scold you and make you redo a million times right ? (: And i honestly think we've every right to hold you back and scold you for your discipline today but no we didnt . I'm pleased to say you guys have improved tremendously. However your behaviour and attitude need some improvement. I honestly feel that without proper discipline, no matter how good your performance will be, your attitude will bring it down. Please reflect on your disgusting behaviour because trust me sec 3s, when you take over it isn't going to be easy. We dont like to scold but when we do it, it's for your own good. Stop complaining. Syafiqah here again Today's session was fairly good and fairly bad... Basically what i mean is that your discipline have NOT been improving since our first session this year. It SUCK so far. yeah... You all were very chatty today. Is there something interesting to talk about? If yes, then share with the whole choir ah since it's much more important to talk about. I'll make you talk in front of the whole choir. You think i enjoy scolding and repeating the same boring line ah!?! It's so frustating. I may not have scolded you today but you should have the basic courtesy and respect. When i say keep quiet, you freaking shut your freaking mouth! Dont test my patience. You want respect, you jolly well shut up and respect for the person talking at the front. Just now when mr wong was conducting, from where i sit, i can hear people murmuring. Plus mr wong had to get your attention to focus. Stop wasting anymore time! We only left with 1 more practice for the lunchtime concert. 1 MORE PRACTICE EH! Its not a joking matter. Im sure you dont want to humiliate yourself in front of your fellow friends. Secondly, please go practice your songs with dynamics. For some of you who dont know what is that, well it means the loudness. When you look through your scores, you will notice that there are p, mp, mf and f. p means soft; mp means moderately soft; mf means moderately loud and f means loud. Also take note of the correct posture when singing. Basically just refer back to your notebook. Study the notes that you have written down in your notebook cos there will be a quiz on it on mon. Oh, and also memorise the words for the songs including the dynamics and etc. As for the speech day, there will be 2 rehearsals: 5th april and 12th april @ 3.30pm. On the 12th, its a full dress rehearsal. So please write down the following on your diary or whatever: 1) Yellow dress 2) Safety shorts (any black short shorts 3) Black heels This are the things that you hae to bring on 9th april (mon). As for Kay Seng, bring your shirt, pants, yellow tie and shoes. DONT FORGET TO BRING!!! SAY IT OUT LOUD 10 TIMES!!! REMEMBER TO PRACTICE!!
